Depression

Having depression is not being sad. It's more than that. Having depression is like waking up in the morning and your mom saying, "look, it's a gorgeous day" and you only see grey. Having depression is staring at a wall for hours because you're imagining all the ways in your head that life could be better. Your dream life. Depression is 9 pill bottles. 6 for every day where you take one in the morning and two at night, one for when it's an emergency, one for when you can't sleep, and one for when you can't focus. Depression is feeling like you want to die without being suicidal. Depression is also healing. Depression is therapy where you can find solutions even if you don't want to. Depression sucks. But depression does have a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes the dark makes it hard to find it, but I know when I will, it will be the warmest light I've ever felt. And I'll have my depression to thank for it.
