Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, DBT, is using coping mechanisms, known by those who follow DBT and some easily memorized, in order to help one get through a difficult situation. Originally, DBT was suggested for people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, typically those struggling with suicidality. Nowadays, DBT is being applied to a wide range of diagnoses, such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, and many more. Recently, some find that DBT skills benefit everyone, not only those going through difficult situations.
These DBT Cards are ones I have gotten from La Europa Academy, a Residential Treatment Center I had went to for fifteen months in Murray, Utah. They helped me so much, and I always carry them with me, even though I have memorized them, because I share them with friends and family when I see they are in tough situations they are working through. I hope the cards help everyone that comes to the site, and please don't be afraid to share them with your friends. DBT may seem lame, but I believe that everybody can benefit. Whether in a crisis or an everyday situation, DBT is always there to offer its help.
